A truly bespoke suit begins as a pattern that exists for one body and no other. It is not a stock block adjusted at the edges, and it is not a set of options chosen from a menu. It is drafted, cut, proved, and corrected — and the correcting is the part that matters.

Multiple fittings are carried out on an unfinished garment, precisely so that it can still be changed. By the time a suit is finished, every question has already been asked and answered. That is the whole argument for the method, and there is no shortcut through it.

The Bespoke Suiting Process

Proved before it is cut

Commission & Measure

Forty-five minutes with a $75 deposit. We talk through how you actually live and work, choose cloth, and take the measurements a paper pattern is drafted from.

Scrap Fitting

Before a single inch of your cloth is cut, the paper pattern is proved in inexpensive fabric. Mistakes are made here, on material that costs nothing, rather than on the cloth you chose.

Basted Fitting

The garment arrives loosely stitched together with white basting thread. Nothing is committed. Balance, drape, shoulder and stance can all still be opened up and moved.

Forward Fitting

The last appointment before delivery. The suit is essentially finished; what remains are the small corrections that separate a very good fit from a correct one.
